Dr. Ede Uzoma Samuel is the Founder and President of POTSDI. His vision for sustainable development and dedication to humanitarian service has inspired the creation of programs that touch lives, empower communities, and bring hope to vulnerable populations.
Samuel holds a B. Agric in Agricultural Economics and Farm Management from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria, a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Ogun State University (Now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria, a Master Degree MSc Finance from the University of Calabar, Nigeria and a Master Degree (MFE) in Financial Economics from University of Abuja, Nigeria. He is a PhD Degree holder in Business Administration, Nasarawa State University, Keffi Nigeria.
He is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ACIB), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and Honorary Senior Member, The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB). He has attended prestigious trainings such as the Oxford Programme on Negotiation (Said Business School, University of Oxford UK), Breakthrough Strategies for Growth (Lagos Business School), Accountability and Transparency in Service Delivery (ICPC/National Productivity Centre), and several professional courses in credit analysis, treasury management, people management, and leadership.
Dr. Ede’s working experience spans over 28 years in the banking sector, beginning with First Bank Plc in 1992 during his NYSC, later joining Credit Bank Nigeria Limited, and in 1996, Zenith Bank Plc where he served until January 2025. He rose to the position of General Manager/Zonal Head in charge of Abuja Zone 2, comprising eight branches, and in 2005, he received the MD/CEO Award as the Most Outstanding Leader in the Abuja Business Focus Group. His career covered retail, commercial, and corporate banking, as well as branch and zonal management.
He also served as a member of the CBN National Organizing Committee on the United Nations International Year of Microcredit (IYMC) 2005 in Nigeria. His interests center on development finance, economic growth, and programs leading to poverty alleviation.
